09/01/2010 - Istanbul, Turkey (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Love scored 13 points and Kevin Durant added 12 to lead a balanced attack, as the United States remained unbeaten at the 2010 FIBA World Championship with an 88-51 rout of Iran.

Derrick Rose chipped in 11 points and Danny Granger netted 10 for the Americans, who bounced back from a narrow 70-68 victory over Brazil on Monday and improved to 4-0 to secure the top spot in Group B.

The U.S. will conclude preliminary round play on Thursday against winless Tunisia.

Hamed Haddadi of the Memphis Grizzlies led Iran with 19 points and Arsalan Kazemi of Rice University added 14.

Iran took a 5-3 lead early in the contest and was within 12-10 late in the first, but the Americans answered with seven straight points and took a 19-13 edge to the second period.

A three-pointer by Eric Gordon and a bucket by Russell Westbrook to open the second extended the U.S. lead to 11. The margin grew to 15 before the Americans settled for a 42-28 cushion at the break.

Rose scored four points in an 8-0 run to start the second half and the Iranians never threatened from there.

Canada, meanwhile, remained winless in four games after a 71-61 loss to New Zealand in Group D. Kirk Penney scored 18 points and Casey Frank added 14 for the Kiwis, who improved to 2-2 and will advance to the second round.

Jevohn Shepherd paced Canada with 15 points and Joel Anthony of the Miami Heat added 13 in defeat.

New Zealand built a 35-28 lead at halftime and opened a 13-point advantage in the third quarter before Canada trimmed the deficit to 47-41 heading to the fourth. The Canadians closed to within four early in the final period, but New Zealand slowly pulled away and led by as many as 11 in the final minute.

Canada will conclude preliminary round play on Thursday against Spain.

Also on Wednesday, Croatia pounded Tunisia, 84-64, in Group B and Spain mauled Lebanon, 91-57, behind 25 points from Marc Gasol, in Group D. In Group C, Russia topped China, 89-80, and Greece dismantled the Ivory Coast, 97-60. In Group A, Serbia thumped Australia, 94-79, behind 14 points and 10 rebounds from Nenad Krstic and Angola slipped by Germany, 92-88.

Matt Kenseth And Kevin Harvick Favorites To Take NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship

(September 15)—The NASCAR season has hit the homestretch with the opening event on this year’s Chase for the Cup taking place this weekend at the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway. With 10 races remaining to determine the Cup Series champion, leading online sportsbook MySportsbook.com today announced odds on all 10 Chase qualifying drivers capturing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

One of the largest sportsbook sites on the Internet, MySportsbook.com currently lists the top two drivers in the point standings as the early favorites to win the Nextel Cup. Entering the Chase for the Cup with a slim five-point lead in the point standings, 2003 NASCAR champ Matt Kenseth has been made a slight favorite to win his second Cup at 7/2 betting odds. 2001 Cup Rookie of the Year Kevin Harvick has betting odds listed at 5/2 and four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon is listed at 6/1 to capture the Nextel Cup this year.

Hoping to follow in the footsteps of his legendary father who won six NASCAR titles, Dale Earnhardt Jr. stands at 8/1 to breakthrough with his first Cup victory. Staying with the family theme, MySportsbook.com lists 2005 Rookie of the Year Kyle Busch at 14/1 to succeed big brother Kurt’s 2004 NASCAR title. While Kasey Kahne was the final driver to qualify for the Chase with a third place finish last week, the oddsmakers give him a fighting chance at 10/1 mainly due to several mile-and-a-half tracks remaining on the schedule. Despite going winless on the NASCAR circuit this season, Jeff Burton enters the Chase at 5/1 to capture the Cup title. Meanwhile, rookie Denny Hamlin is 4/1 to win the championship, while veteran driver Mark Martin enters the Chase for the Cup as a 15/1 long shot to win his first NASCAR title in his 24th and final season.

MySportsbook.com will offer comprehensive Nascar betting lines on every race remaining on the Nextel Cup series including driver match-ups, props and odds to win each race. For a complete list of NASCAR odds, please visit www.MySportsbook.com.

Football Betting: Defensive Rookie of the Year Awards

Oddsmakers have released the odds for the 2009 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry has been made the opening favorite.

Bet on NFL Football

Seattle took Curry with the fourth overall pick in April's NFL draft and plan on inserting him into its starting lineup right away. The Hawks traded linebacker Julian Peterson in the offseason, so Curry is expected to have a significant role in Seattle's defense next year and that's one of the primary reasons he is the favorite to win the NFL ROY Award.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook MySportsbook.com have made Curry a 5/1 favorite to win this year's NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Given that he was the best defensive prospect in this year's draft and how he'll have plenty of opportunities to make plays in '09, Curry offers a ton of value at 5/1.

Another thing working for Curry is the position he plays. A linebacker has won the defensive ROY award six straight times and eight of the last nine years. Jerod Mayo, Patrick Willis, DeMeco Ryans, Shawne Merriman, Jonathan Vilma, Terrell Suggs, Kendrell Bell and Brian Urlacher were the most recent linebackers to take home the award.

Following Curry at 5/1 are Tyson Jackson (Chiefs) at 7/1, James Laurinaitas (Rams) at 8/1, Brian Orakpo (Redskins) at 10/1, Rey Maualuga (Bengals) at 10/1 and Jerry Peria (Falcons) at 10/1.

All the players mentioned above are expected to start for their respective teams, but Jackson and Peria are going to have a tough time being recognized on a national level given they're both defensive linemen. D-linemen rarely put up the numbers that it takes to win an individual award like the ROY.

A couple of players with some value are Clay Matthews (Packers) at 12/1 and Larry English (Chargers) at 15/1. Matthews is expected to start at outside linebacker in Green Bay's new 3-4 defense and could rack up a ton of tackles. English, who was an impressive player at Northern Illinois, is expected to be a situational pass rusher for the Chargers and could rack up a ton of sacks.
